A tale of Two Cities.

Post by Lightbringer »

If what I think I am seeing is true, then it is worth a chuckle...

I am playing Texas in the North American Scenario. Kansas and Illinois have been going at it since the first few months of the game. Kansas took Missouri, but has been unable to hold much of Iowa or Illinois proper. I have been busy with Mexico and not paying much attention, except to note that Kansas and Illinois have been trading control of Springfield Ill. almost daily for about two years now. I finished off Mexico and started planning to grab Kansas since they declared on me a while back. I notice that a single Missouri city is still under Ill. control, and is in fact the Capitol of Ill. Lo' and behold, it is Springfield Missouri! Evidently Ill. moved it's capitol there at some point, and the poor, hapless Kansas AI became confused over which Springfield it should take!!! There are a couple of mobile mortars and garrison units there, but that is it.

I am unaware of any other duplicate city names, has anyone else seen this little glitch?

There are multiple duplicate city names in the US, there are at least 15 "Springfields" on the map IIRC. There are two Kansas cities, one in Kansas.

Yeah, I started recalling others as I stumbled off to bed. It still seemed humorous to me that Kansas was basically driving units past it's mortal enemy's almost undefended capital to attack another town of the same name and no real strategic value.
