Forbin frigate/destroyer unit
Hi,
Watching the data about the forbin vessel, I wanted to ask more information about it:
Is it the current FREMM/Renaissance French/Italian program? The one whitch was signed yesterday?
Because I read recently that this programm plan to built 4 version of this unit:
2 for the Italian:
ASM (submarine primary role)
EG (genralist)
2 for the french:
AVT (Action Vers la Terre (bombardment))
ASM (submarine primary role)
The Surface-Surface missile are :
- the Exocet for the french one
(MM40 BlockIII usable against ship and installations)
(180km)
(8 battery)
- the Otomat for the Italian one
(180km)
(8 battery on the EG
4 battery on the ASM)
The Cruise Missile:
- 16 Surface-Air missile ASTER 15
- 16 Scalp Naval (500 to 1000 km) or a mixte with more ASTER15
The AVT only could prepare and plan launch (for every ones, the other will have to have some help to do that)
The torpilles:
- 4 to 6 launcher against sub
The canon are:
- one 76mm for the french one
two 12.7mm "teleopérées"
- two 76mm for the ASM
two 25mm
- one 75 and one 127 for the EG (perhaps some for the AVT french at mid-life)
two 25mm
Helicoptere:
- NH90 or Cougar RESCO for the french
- NH90 "AND" EH101
better steahling for the french one (A new technology)
better radar for the Italian one (to reduce the cost one the french frigate)
Speed: Max: between 27 and 30 noeud
Power: 32 ou 34 or 38 MW
Perhaps it would be useful to create several model for this program:
called FREMM AVT or FREMM ASM for the french
Rinascimento EG or ASM for the italian

I believe it is the same thing, here's the entry from our database;
but you mentioned that it should have scalp? That makes no sense to me, I believed the Scalp was air launched only...The Project HORIZON Common New-Generation Frigate (CNGF) program was initially a joint British, French and Italian program to provide a common area defense ship for their fleets. These ships were designed to replace French, British and Italian air defense destroyers. When completed, the HORIZON fri gates (which should really be termed destroyers in light of their long-range missile capability) would provide an advanced area air defense capability that each navy desperately needs. Four destroyers of this class are to be built. The first two will replace the SUFFREN DDGs. The second set, to be ordered later this decade, will replace the CASSARD-class DDGs. Though actually frigates, the French navy classifies them as DDGs.
I'll probably use your suggestions to make "next generation" versions. I can't change what is there, it has already been placed in maps for both French and Italian forces.Storm Shadow/SCALP EG
Storm Shadow will be integrated for use on the Tornado, Eurofighter and Harrier GR7 in British service. The SCALP EG will be used on the French Eurofighters, the Mirage 2000 and the Rafale.

It will replace the following ship:
Tourville
Degrasse
Le Henaff
PM L'Her
LV Lavallée
Dupleix
Montcalm
Cdt. Blaison
Price: 280millions Euros (350 for the italians ones) with the development
the SCALP will be the SCALP Naval (an naval version of the Storm Shadow/SCALP EG)
As it is not the Horizon Units and it will arrived in 2010, You don't have to change the current scenario, just add the model.
