From my experience, no supplies are actually passing through the river, unless you are allied with him or have a supply treaty of course. The only supplies on the other side of that river is coming from that lone town. Take the town, and that whole peninsula is yours. :P

sorry, i should have clarified. I am the yellow navy units shown in the pic.

The only pier or port is under the 7 stack on ships on the right.

That pier seems to be supplying not only the entire river, but the ocean on the other side of it as well.
I was under the impression that it would not supply the river or the ocean on the other side due to game mechanics.
That supply from the pier would stop at the rivers mouth.

Well I see what you're saying now. I would say as long as there is a one hex path of water and if you own it then yes, it will give supply to the other side. You must have really good infrastructure to keep up that size of the ocean on the other side of the river. If the size of the river is big enough for ships to pass through, it will let supplies go through too.

Supply will pass through river. IIRC, rivers provide more supply than road/rail.

Sea pier has limited range to where it can supply units and the water way you are refering to is part of the sea. I wouldn't call that a river.

Actually, supplies will not pass from river to ocean. Inland piers supply inland, ocean piers supply ocean. The exception would be IIRC that if you place on a river adjacent to ocean or vise versa it may supply in both directions. However, briges can interupt the supply path.

Okay, thats the way i thought it worked.

So, whats causing this pier to supply both the river and the ocean on the other side ?

Can you post the pic again after using Shift-F5 (show terrain) and Ctrl+D (think that's the one to collaps the huds) so that I can make it out a little better? Hard to tell right now...

isn't that the strait of Magellan? If it is then the red area to the south is an island.
