Sea port on a narrow river?????

Post by Justifier »

Here is my problem guys:
In Europe scenario there is a sea port in Romania near the city of Constanta. As Bulgaria I captured that port during the war repaired it and produced some sea units. After production my ships couldn't go away from the port! They just wait there and can not move to another hex. I looked at the land and realized that it is river narrow/freezable!

What can I do here now?My ships are useless when they just wait there. So my port is useless as well. It is big deal because my economy is not a big one and building another sea port is a nighmare.

Thanks.

I just opened the game and looked at Romania, the Port at Constanta faces into the black sea and is not on a narrow river some I'm not sure what you're seeing. Use <Shift+F5> to show the terrain layer and post a screenshot if you still see a problem.

I asked my brother if he changed the map and he said that he had done some changes for Romania before his play. However he is not sure if he changed the location of the port.

Right now it is next to an air strip. Is is supposed to be somewhere else? I did the shift+f5 thing and one hex below is naval area.May be port was there at first.

in my situation is there anything to do? Can I do something to move those ships out of base?

Or is the only thing I can do here is selling those ships and scrapping the base?

I really need help guys my game stopped there waiting for me to decide.

If your brother changed the map, and Constanta no longer has access to the sea, then your ships are trapped. You can either sell them off as you suggested and then scrap the base, or keep the ships as a sort of floating artillery defense unit. Either way, there is not much you can do in your current game to help them. I would suggest restarting after you have fixed the map. You might want to re-install and then ask your brother to stop making changes like that. :P

ok now your answer is enough evidence for me as a casus belli against him! He said he was changing some of the ships the Romania has before the start of his Ukraine game. But of course these kinds of excuses will not save his ass! :-)

I will sell the ships and scrap the base then build another one somewhere else.God this thing is really expensive!

Thanks guys

He was trying the change the ships of Romania and I guess he changed the location of the port also.I do not have the original files so I don't know where it should be at the first place.Anyway my new port is under construction but it costed me a lot of time (and money of couse)
