Hi!
Firstly, I read the board and previous topics on the "Nothing to update" error going from 5.5.8 to 6.8.1 and that didn't fix the issue.
Purchased from gamers gate, can easily install Supreme Ruler 2020 without any problem. Game runs fine. Issue happens when I try to upgrade from 5.5.8 to 6.8.1 with the "Setup-SR2020GoldUpdate-6.8.1" file I downloaded. For whatever reason no matter how many attemps I make to wipe the drive, fresh reinstall, verify the 5.58 runs, run the upgrade executible, I get the "Nothing to update" error.
Is there any part of a uninstall that might miss an entry that would block the upgrade?
Running Windows 7, Mcafee. Plenty of resources on the machine, actively patched.
Thanks

Yes, I tried the manual download for the Setup-SR2020GoldUpdate-6.8.1, the patch isn't the problem for me...it's either a file that isn't wiped after an upgrade when an uninstall is performed, registry entry or something else?
Thanks for the idea though...

Re: Upgrade - Nothing to update
Depending on how many times you installed or what version, you could have more than one .exe file. (example; I have a start for SR2020 one for SR2020GC and one for SR Gold) It is hard for me to remember but I think I just clicked on START>navigated to SR2020 and before clicking on start I right clicked> properties and noted the exact location of the exe and made sure that was the one I patched. Might have been something with Win 7 and compatability files.. This may or may not be relevant to your issue.
On further thought I am more inclined to think it is a pathway issue.. hopefully one of the computer nerdy types will chime in. My computer savvy only extends to put in cd, pray for autorun. :(

If the above suggestion doesn't solve the problem, send me an e-mail and include your key so I can determine what version you have installed and help you further.
