WORLD UPDATE - 2020 1ST QUARTER (January-March)

Image

Central America. The United States is making a major push into Mexico, a member of the Neo-Warsaw Pact

Image

A closer look.

Image

3 against 1: Brazil in a stalemate with Colombia, Peru and Argentina (The boundary's been like that for about a week in-game)

Image

Argentina making some advances into Brazil

Image

Germany in a drag out battle with Russia. (FYI You may realize that Germany is no where near Russia or even Kaliningrad but Russia, earlier in the year, conquered Poland via Kaliningrad and its ally Belarus)

Image

The rest of Europe. Serbia making a major push towards Hungary's capital. Belarus managed to get a few areas from Poland during the Polish-Russian War earlier in the year.

Image

The Balkans. Bulgaria making a huge push into Turkey while Serbia is right outside Hungary's capital.

Image

Russia already controlling half of Turkey while Bulgaria makes a push from the west.

Image

Africa has its share of wars. Angola and South Africa are locked in a battle with Angola somewhat gaining the upper hand here. But South Africa is still busy with Zambia. Let's see where this goes once Zambia's gone.

Image

The rest of South Africa. South Africa is slowly becoming a regional power here. It already conquered 2 countries, Botswana and Namibia and about to take control of Zambia as well. Mozambique is holding its self quite nicely against South Africa and Angola is making a push south.

Image

The Middle East. With Israel gone, Iran seems to want to stave out even those that aligned themselves with the US, the "Great Satan", Kuwait and Iraq have already fallen and it seems Saudi Arabia is not holding against Iran.

Image

South Asia. India conquered Afghanistan while Pakistan finds its entire northern and eastern border under attack by India.

Image

China conquered Nepal earlier in the year and now they are looking at India as a nice addition to their already growing "empire". However, from the looks of things, the advances are grinding to a halt.

Image

Mainland Southeast Asia. Myanmar declared war against me a few days ago in-game. Bangladesh is making quite a push at Myanmar in its northwestern area while Thailand is making huge offensives in its southeastern area. However, Laos seems to have taken the brunt of the Myanmar advances and its entire northern area has already fallen.

Image

Korean Peninsula. Where it all started. It seems there is a stalemate in the battle just like in the latter part of the Korean War of the 1950s.

Image

A closer look shows that South Korea is gearing up for a major offensive but it looks like the Russians are here already.

Image

Cuba captured Guantanamo but the US Navy is already encroaching into their waters. So far no US land invasion yet with all its resources focused on Mexico.

That's that! Check back soon, should have April up by tomorrow :D

With Isreal down, it defenatly gives the neo warsaw pact allot more power. Its kinda funny with this mod, Isreal almost never falls without player interaction causing it. Will be interesting to see how it turns out, I suspect without isreal pushing on Russia's sothern border its going to make it much easier for Russia to push into Europe quicker then normal. It will also make it much easier for Iran to push into Saudi territory and its allies, Might even see Russia pushing into these territories once Turkey falls.

Also in reguards to South Africa and Mozembique, you will almost never see SA go after MZ early in the game, they will be at war for a very long time, but SA generaly focuses on its northern border instead.

It also appears Russia is already pushing into Japan, You might find it benificial to support japan in its efforts here becouse if Japan falls you will loose a huge ally in the region. Just make sure you do it in a way that supports them and not take over the front for them, you want japan o be able to push its units across so they can help on the mainland. Japan also likes to launch large amphib landings on China, however china's navy usualy destroys them quickly, its probly not possible, but if you where able to clear some chinease ships making it possible for a landing you might even find Japan a good ally in the help against China.

Once South Korea reaches the chinease and Russian borders, it may prove challanging holding back large formations swarming south Korea.

Wow, thanks for the heads up. I will not divulge anything here so as not to spoil the AAR. Thanks Ruges though, your mod is really bringing so much life into this game and now (just 1 spoiler) I see some nations, eg Singapore, actually launching amphibious attacks against their neighbors. The Japan-Russia boundary you saw in the pics is actually a ferry that I think either was made early in the game by the AI or was already there as part of the mod.

Everyone will have to wait for the updates. I will be posting April soon though although I've already played well into May. Thanks for the comments everyone I really appreciate you reading and supporting my AAR :D Stay tuned!

P.S. Am I going to fast? Or is it just at the right pace?

APRIL 2020: War, A New Plague

"My first wish is to see this plague of mankind, war, banished from the earth." - George Washington

April 2, 2020

United Kingdom dow's Belarus

April 4

Bulgaria dow's Serbia

April 5

Turkey is conquered by the joint Russian-Bulgarian offensive. In a press statement tonight, President Pimentel announces this as a dark day for the Western Powers and their allies in the Middle East. The entire area is now under direct Russian and Iranian threat as one of the largest allies of the West in this volatile area is now gone. No comment was made where the Turkish government is now residing or if there are plans to retake the country from the Russians and Bulgarians.

April 7

The President announced today that the Armed Forces recently bought a frigate design from Japan. The Yubari-class, first launched in the early 1980s, is a type of destroyer escort used by the Japanese Self-Defense Forces in the 1980s-2000s. The type will now be constructed in the only naval factory in the country which is in Manila. The President hopes to launch 10 of these destroyers by 2022 and be put into service as soon as possible to protect the territorial waters of the country during the war. A total of $50M was paid for the design according to a navy admiral who was part of the contingent sent to inspect the design in Japan.

April 12

Serbia dow's Germany

After Serbia's declaration of war against Germany, the Philippines received a telegram asking for help from its ally, Germany. However, due to the tensions already plaguing the country in Asia, the Congress has postponed a decision to declare war against Serbia much to the President's and German ambassador to the Philippines' disappointment.

In other news, the Philippines enters into a formal alliance with the United States.

The Philippine consulate-general in Zambia has confirmed today that the African country has been conquered by South Africa. Nearly a month after a state of war was declared between the two nations, South African troops enter the Zambian capital of Lusaka. The rest of the country quickly fell as the last remnants of the government fled to an undisclosed European nation.

In other news, the Philippines has just signed a full alliance with Papua New Guinea, an Asia-Pacific Defense Organization member, as well as France.

April 26

Germany dow's Ukraine

The Philippines and the United Kingdom enter into a full alliance and mutual defense treaty.

April 28

Taiwan dow's Kazakhstan

April 29

Germany dow's Bulgaria
China dow's Pakistan

April 30

United Kingdom dow's Bulgaria
Hungary dow's United Kingdom

Although a mutual defense treaty has been signed between the Philippines and the UK, the Senate and House of Representatives put the decision to declare war on both Hungary and Serbia on hold. Many rumors are circulating that the Congress does not want to join in European conflicts unless otherwise under direct threat from said countries. This stance very much reflects the American stance during the earlier parts of both World War I and II.

I was looking at your world update, specifically Brazil and noticed a stalemate again. Made me think, does Ruges' mod do anything about the lack of a river crossing at one of Brazils largest cities, Manaus?

That really hampers them. I start every game by logging into Brazil and fixing that manually.

Yep Brazil has ferry crossings. And yes they will use them. They just need a little bit more time. I dont want to tell the story that happens here but it can happen several different ways depending on several different things if the AI decides to do them or not, But from the tests I have run usualy from 1-5 years South America is a different landscape, all without player interaction.
P.S. Am I going to fast? Or is it just at the right pace?
I like the pace, But can you keep up at that pace? AARs take allot of time, so you must be going crazy right now.

MAY 2020: It Begins

May 1, 2020

China declares war on the Philippines

It has just been confirmed that the People's Republic of China has declared war against the Republic of the Philippines. Immediately after this declaration the President entered into a closed-door meeting with the chief of staff and the entire Armed Forces commanders, as well as the Secretary of National Defense and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs. Across the northern areas of Luzon, civil defense sirens, set-up by the military only 4 months ago, sounded as reports of a Shenyang J-8 and J-11 fighter jet dropped their ordnance on the city of San Fernando in La Union, killing 39 and injuring over 500. So far no other word from the government about this incident but police and government officials in the affected cities are already briefing their citizens about the steps that need to be done in the event that another bombing attempt is made against them by the Chinese Air Force.

Emergency Meeting

PRINCIPAL CHARACTERS:
P for President Angelo Pimentel
GAFP for Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines
GA for the Commanding General of the Army
GAF for Commanding General of the Air Force
GN for Officer-in-Command of the Navy

P: Good afternoon everyone. Please sit down. Okay, as you may know China has declared war against us exactly 9:54am a while ago. Now, we already made a plan in the event that this would happen but I think the Armed Forces commanders have revised this plan. General Alberto please proceed.

GAFP: Thank you Mr. President. Okay, ladies and gentlemen. Our revised Plan C will position certain elements of the Air Force and Army across the island of Luzon. As you can see in the presentation, anti-aircraft defenses will be put in the city of San Fernando while artillery positions will be put across the island from Laoag all the way to Caloocan in case that we may need to fire at a possible naval target or even land target if the Chinese will try a naval invasion of the island. While the Philippine Army with its Infantry and Armored Division will be positioned here in western Pangasinan and in Laoag. On the other hand the Philippine Air Force will be located in 3 airbases in Luzon, Cauayan, Angeles and Manila. The PAF helicopter wing will be positioned in Cauayan, the Strike Wing in Angeles while the Bomber Wing will be positioned in Manila. This is to ensure that if they are needed, they would be close by and be capable to launch an attack within an hour or less. The Navy will continue to send ships to patrol and guard our waters although Chinese ships have been spotted falling back into deeper waters of the West Philippine Sea.

Image

P: Thank you general. Any questions?

Silence

P: Then you have my approval general. How long will it take to mobilize the forces?

GAFP: Actually they are already positioned near their assigned positions so within 3-4 hours they will be in their areas.

P: Okay, good. Taking the general aside What was it you wanted to talk to me about?

GAFP: Well sir, the officer-in-command of the navy has pointed out that Thai and Lao forces are being pushed back by the joint Chinese-Burmese forces.

P: Cut to the point general.

GAFP: Well, we wanted to send an anti-tank division to the area to help out the Thai-Lao forces because if they fall then we would be vulnerable.

P: Okay, what is your plan?

GAFP: Here, this is a map and possible locations of our forces. We will only send a small force not exceeding 1,000 men.

Image

Image

P: Why anti-tank?

GAFP: Because the Thai generals are saying that only Chinese tanks are barreling down their country along with artillery, if we manage to grind them down, they may be able to launch a retaliatory attack then push China and Myanmar back.

P: Ahhh... okay. You have my approval but make sure that those men will not be spent fighting in the front lines. They will only DEFEND the areas needed to be defended and will not be issued an order to attack. They should also be ready to be sent home once the situation has stabilized there. Clear?

GAFP: Yes sir! Thank you sir.

P: Hopefully this works. You're right, we cannot survive without our allies in that region.

The Philippines buys the design for the MIM-23 Hawk, a surface-to-air missile, from the Japanese. Originally an American design, due to a treaty with the Japanese government, all Japanese military designs come at a much discounted rate therefore the Japanese design was bought. According to a source within the army, it costed $200 million for the design. The Philippine Army hopes to build 10 batteries within 2 years to help in protecting the country from airborne attacks.

Today, the Presidential Spokesperson announced that Mexico has been conquered by the United States. Mexico another Neo-Warsaw Pact ally, was defeated when American forces captured Guadalajara, the relocated capital of Mexico. According to him, this marks another turning point in the war against the Communist-radical Islamic coalition. However, this was no time to rejoice, he cautioned, for the country is still very much in danger. While the Western Allies may be winning in the West, the Asia-Pacific Defense Organization or APDO is losing here in the East. If a move is not made by the APDO, soon Thailand and Laos would fall to Myanmar and China.

Denmark and Norway sign a formal alliance and mutual defense treaty with the Philippines. The American ambassador-general has also announced that the admittance of the Philippines into the Western Allies coalition is already being decided on and many nations are voting favorable into this long-time ally of the democratic West.
