Post by GIJoe597 »

Been playing this here and there for 20 - 30 minute stretches. Not recording video as it is just me doing nothing but micromanaging AB-1 Swansea stealth bombers and Terra Lamps. I am slowly working the Russian Siberian line back, away from our front. Money is an issue and I have been forced to scour the globe and reserve any units not directly involved in the Siberian campaign. I even pulled 75% of the forces holding the line in Siberia back to reserves. This includes reserving all our Anti Air assets on the home island as well as reducing garrisons, worldwide, to one.

Dominica, the good ally that it is gifted us $73,861M. We are grateful and recognize there is nothing they could do militarily, so the money is a great help.

Uruguay, also gifted us $17,347M. We are grateful to them also.

We also ordered the construction of a new Industrial Goods factory in Dumbarton as we are running a slight deficient.

Small update.

Russia has managed to retake all the gains we had made while micromanaging the RAF in Siberia. We are now roughly back to the front you will see at the end of the last video. They also started sending in Strike Aircraft with Anti-Ship missiles again, as a consequence, we lost 2 x DDR-187 Atlantic Sea destroyers and 1 civilian cargo vessel pressed into military service.

I guess the Russian leadership was tired of watching our AB-1 Swansea stealth bombers taking out their expensive tanks and they sent Long Range fighters to engage them. I lost 2 of the precious beasts and of the 12 left only 2 are combat ready, the rest being in various states of repair.

Russia launched a naval attack on Diego Garcia resulting in one more sunk Russian vessel. I have no idea what kind it was as it was over before I saw it. Only indication I had was the "Enemy units approaching base" text message. Luckily we had 4 Destroyers and 5 Subs in port and they sortied to engage and sink the Russian ship. As I was looking at Diego Garcia I noticed a Russian BBI-1 Summit Battleship approximately 200 kms south east of Seychelles. There was one RAF squadron at Diego Garcia and it was hurriedly loaded with P3T Sea Eagle anti ship missiles. They attacked the Summit, only managing to damage it by the time they ran out of missiles. They came back reloaded, but we could never find the ship again. I suspected it was heading for the coast of Africa, but we never again detected it.

On the economy side things are looking up. After reserving all units not directly supporting the Siberian front and lowering DEFCON to 3 we are once again making money. This has prompted me to start construction on 6 Uranium mines in the former Russian held Greenland (Denmark in game) coast near the small village of Gronndel. This just happens to be the only Uranium we have access to and will be put to good use. We also started constructing a new Air Base approximately 180 mks west of our main Siberian base. This will allow more supply in area as well as give the RAF a forward base.

Still micro managing the RAF's clearing out Siberia. We have made a bit of headway, and extended out approx 272 kms west from our main Siberian base, (the coast). Russia seems to be getting restless, as she has sent naval vessels to several locations and started performing sea bombardments again. An F-281 Baikal attempted a naval bombardment of Diego Garcia again, the ship was sunk by a sortie of Subs and Destroyers.

Sri Lanka has come under heavy naval bombardment in three different coastal locations, Batticaloa had 1 BB-1 Summit shelling it, Galle had 2 x BB-1190 IMP. Nikolai II lobbing in shells and Negombo also had 2 x Unknown ship types shelling it. We loaded the only Eurofighter Typhoon we had at Diego Garcia with P3t Sea Eagle Anti Ship missiles and sent it to assist Sri Lanka. It was ordered to land at Anuradhapura and we would conduct operations out of that Airfield. At this time, fighting broke out in the North Sea over another Oil Platform and I shifted focus to it.

We had ordered a 7 ship fleet of DD's and Frigates to attack another Oil Platform in our bid to gain some oil production and more importantly, remove some from Russia. Backing up this fleet were 2 flotilla's of Astute subs and 14 squadrons of IDS Tornado's. They managed to overcome the garrison forces and we took possession of the facility. Russia sortied some subs from the coast of former Germany and France, but, as always we have pre-positioned sub flotillas which took out the Soviet subs.

Back at Sri Lanka, the Typhoon had sunk the naval units shelling Negombo, I did not get a chance to see what they were, it had also launched missiles at the other ships. I was able to see the 2 BB-1190s sink as the plane landed. It re-armed and took off again, this time sinking the remaining BB-1. The waters around Sri Lanka are clear of Soviet vessels.

As soon as I finished typing this a mass of Soviet subs were seen incoming from the former Denmark, Sweden and Norway. These subs came in flotilla's of 2's and 3's, all were destroyed, as of this writing approx 20 Soviet subs are in Davey Jones's Locker. In addition another Soviet Baikal attacked Diego again, it too was sunk, restless indeed,

I have been working on this game for 2 real world years. I have no idea when it will end or if the UK will prevail or lose. What I do know is a new update is ready. (still processing on youtube as I type this.)

Comments or suggestions are welcome. I give you a glimpse of my future plans, only time will tell if they will see fruition.

Progress is extremely slow. It takes me years to get anything accomplished, but that should pick up since I cleaned up the Russian units. 40 years of military production was dragging the game down far to much.

Could you attach a save or a description of the Russian military? How many units are they up to?

****NOTE: I am not trying to force people to watch the video or subscribe, in fact, I have the subscription number turned off for public view as I do not care either way. It is simply easier for me to record a video than it is to take individual screen shots, cut/size, etc, then upload and name each individual one, then link to the forums and add in text narrative to complete the story. Using Youtube I simply play a 20 or 30 minute session and upload the raw footage, I do not tinker with it at all, most times do not even compress it.****

As of the last video, I logged into Russia and scrapped around 20K or 25K land units which were sitting around in the "infamous" star patterns. I did not actually make a note of how many units they had left, but it drastically increased the speed of game play. If you take a look at the last video, then one 2 videos ago, you can see how much of a difference it is.

As I explained in the video, I scrapped only units that were sitting around doing nothing in Africa, Middle East, Norway, S and SE Asia and Western Europe up to Kyyiv as it seems to be a magnet for Russian units. For whatever reason, Russia always sends 100's if not thousands of units to Kyyiv in an attempt to embark them on transports. They never get on any and just mill about there. That has been that way since the game came out, I just live with it usually, but it was too much this time. (similiar to how in game there is no way for Brazilian units to pass form N to S at Manaus as there is no bridge. I start every game by logging into Brazil and building that bridge so it will not hamper there defense or an invaders attack)

I will take no military actions in those regions and will continue to hold the line and press forward from our Siberian holdings.

A downside to this; the Russian units are able to move much faster now, it was a double edged sword, but game play is much better speed wise.

I just checked in game as I am typing this. Russia has some 9000 odd units worldwide as of this exact moment.They have around 1100 in Siberia at/near/within 400kms of our lines. They have the following build capacity;

468 Land Fabs
369 Air Fabs
75 Naval Fabs
155 Missile Fabs

Uk has;

17 Land Fabs (only 7 active, producing Special Forces II) I lost all but 1 brig of existing SF in a failed attempt at a paradrop, explained in the video.
28 Air Fabs (only 21 active producing Terra Lamps)
5 Naval Fabs (zero active)
6 Missile Fabs (all active)

In order to balance the budget and make money I have had to deactivate some fabs as you can see above.

If you have any more questions fire away... I will answer to the best of my ability.

New update uploaded to Youtube. Russia is fielding a particular unit type which represents a large leap in technology, they are active again around the world with their Navy and Air Force and we come to a decision which changes our entire military plans.

the invasion you're planning sounds like a good plan , with only one flaw - you won't be able to fully achive your goal to increase your population ; as far as I know , since Indonesia is your ally , any territory you will conquer will go back to them ; still , there is some land belonging to Malaysia and Brunei which no longer exists ,so that's all you will get

Oh crap, it has been so long since I played in this situation I forgot about that. The good news is, there are 10/11 cities on the island that were part of Malaysia, they are no longer in game, I will cap them. Good catch, thanks.

try to trick the AI by sending a small force to take land...say in siberia then have a much larger force hit SA and try to hold it, from there build as many fabs as quick as possible and hang on for dear life...LMAO
