Re: Tank attack values
Correct. Range does not affect damage in SR.

Re: Tank attack values
That is incorrect. Damage is reduced for each hex out.Kellick wrote:Correct. Range does not affect damage in SR.

Never knew that.
Edit: Well kinda.. I do recall that something like this was mentioned to simulate accuracy variables at a distance. But its never been put in such blunt terms.

it means from 0 to 40 I have attack 30 and over 40 the attack value will drop as the distanceBalthagor wrote:That is incorrect. Damage is reduced for each hex out.Kellick wrote:Correct. Range does not affect damage in SR.

Re: Tank attack values
No, it means in first hex it (the impact) will have damage 30, every additional hex further from unit will have reduced damage... You can't attack over 40km if your range is 40kmdax1 wrote:it means from 0 to 40 I have attack 30 and over 40 the attack value will drop as the distance

in 1st hex --->30
in 2nd hex--->15
in 3rd hex---> 0
or something like that

Re: Tank attack values
Yes, but the difference is not that big...I'll see if I can find the thread where there was discussion about the actual percentagesdax1 wrote:so ..if my range is 40km..number47 wrote:No, it means in first hex it (the impact) will have damage 30, every additional hex further from unit will have reduced damage... Re: Tank attack values
hmmm came to think of that the tank attack values of apcs and ifv should be in some cases significantly lower. what I'm wondering is that would this be an an bqlqncing factor in-game or would it force the player and ai to use more combined arms.
Currently when playing I usually use battlegroups of 7 same typed units, ifv/apc bat.grps usually are able to hold out a significant time againts tanks and kill alot of them. in my case this might force me to do a rethink of future bsttlegroups, which actually would be more realistic, at brigade level already units can be mixed.
