USA AAR

September Summary

Holly Burton hated the bumpy ride thru the Pyrenees Mountains but loved the scenery of Andorra. It was her second trip to Andorra le Vella in past two months and she although she loved the beautiful view she secretly hoped she would not have to travel here in the winter. This trip was unexpected, last months negotiations seem to have persuaded the Andorran government to lean towards the US but in the latest UN assembly a routine vote showed they took a neutral position. Obviously more work needed to be done to persuade them that the US would be looking out for their best interest as well. She expects to be chastized by the President when she gets back to Washington however, his orders were to concentrate on improving relations with regions in the Far East and Central America.

DAR only rose a few tenths of % this month but still it still counts as the 6th month in a row. Project Legacy is will no doubt have a legacy of debt however as more debt racked up this month. Construction projects for Power ended this month so officials could guage amount of consumption of raw materials and output to better estimate how many more power facilities will be required to bring all production facilities up to 100% and plan for future needs. Rough estimates put the totals at another 325 power facilites due to the needed additional 125 Oil-Gas Field facilities that will also be needed to bring production totals to 100%. Due to financing limitations this could take roughly 20 years to achieve.

Commodity czars report increasing productions mostly due to better infrastructure. Agriculture Czar Jon Wheat reports that famers and cattleman should be able to meet domestic demand and start exporting American agriculture products next month. Commodity Minister reported that we are currently exporting Petro, Water and Elect.

Research Minister George Armstrong reports that our colony Puerto Rico developed Air Defense Technology and turned it over to US researchers. We promptly sold the Technology to our allies. Another colony Panama Canal Zone research Atomic Fundamentals and we shared the Isotope Seperation process with them to show our support.

Military Minister Rachel Chase reported that new M-26 Pershings were completed and replaced some M4A3E8 Sherman which were sold to South Korea and West Germany. More M-26 Pershings are being built. We now have dedicated squadrons of transport helicopters in the military inventory. There are currently 4 squadrons of HUS-1 Seahorse (UH-34D), two located at Palmdale and two at Dobbins ARB.

Relations with world regions continue to be maintained or have been improved. Andorra swayed from US Leaning to Non Aligned but then shifted back to US leaning after a small trade deal.

The War in Vietnam saw two new region enter the war as the Soviet Union and South Korea units both saw fighting. In fact South Korea sustained over 50k casualties in the fighting in Vietnam while the Soviets saw only 6,750. Most of the fighting this month took place about 80km north of Hue as Chinese and Soviet units advanced further south but a sustained and expensive South Korea counterattack followed up by French Allied forces pushed back the advancing Soviet and Chinese forces and the Italians now sit within 32km of Vinh. In the West, North Vietnames Artillery and Chinese Recon units continue to shell and probe the Capital of Laos, Loang Phrangbang. Chinese recon units also took control of the Airfield at Xieng Khouang but a French motorized Infrantry retook the Airfield. Reports indicate however the French unit has suffered
massive injuries from NV artillery and may not be able to hold the area for much longer.

Plans for October

Build more Power facilities and improve Rail networks
Continue to research units
Continue uprgrading miltary.
Monitor Vietnam war

USA AAR

October 1950 Summary

President Hundane listened as his top aides went over the location, history and politics of a region until a few years ago he had never heard or knew anything about. The region of Eritrea, a small Eastern African region along the Red Sea was an Italian colony before WWII. In 1941 the British and the Italians fought the Battle of Keran and ever since then Eritrea has been administered by the British. After the long detailed briefing the aides gave the Intel report. The report showed that Soviet Influence in East Africa had grown and had overtaken the U.S. "So I take it , you have some sort of plan to re-establish our influence in East Africa" asked President Hundane. The Ministers in the room looked at each other and one finally cleared his throat, motioned for the Aides to leave and then spoke " Mr. President, Its a risky plan but it could give us a dominant position in that area if it succeeds."
President Hundane listened to the details of the plan and told the Ministers he will let them know what his desision would be in a day or two since the decision wasnt needed urgently. They nodded, let the Aides back into the room and proceeded with the next series of reports.

DAR went over the 30% mark. The first time its been that high since Jan of 1950 when it was at an all time high of 43.5%. In January the USA debt was 0 now its at $1.26T but Project Legacy has showed promise despite the enourmouse debt. Production of some commodities has increases even though no major facilities have been added. Infrastructure improvements have helped lower costs and inflation is slowly going down. Even though Goods manufacturing is still below 50% , factories have been able to keep their employees out of the unemployment lines as unemployment numbers have not risen but a tenth since Feb but is lower by 4 tenths from Dec. 49. However, Administration officials are still concerned. The funding is drying up fast and the project will have to rely solely on the revenue it can generate.

Holly Burton from State reported that relations around the world have been maintained and in some places improved.

Commodity Czar of Agriculture Jon Wheat was proud to announce that the US was able to meet demand for agriculture and also export for the 1st time this month.

Research Minister George Armstrong reported that development was completed on a new Carrier, the CV-59 Forrestal, a new tank, M4A1 Sherman FL-10 and a new missile RGM-6 Regulus SLCM

Military Minister Rachel Chase reports new aircraft and tanks were added to the military inventory this month. CM-T Carriage aircraft were sold to South Korea.

The War in Vietnam saw a continuation of the offensive started last month by the French Allied forces. On the 3rd of October, French Allied forces captured Vinh. A thrust continued to the west to rescue the Laotian forces under siege by Chinese and North Vietnames forces at the Laotian capital of Loang Phrabang which succeeded. The village of Louang Phrabang has been heavily damaged but the Airfield has been completely repaired. The French government has been granting ownership of Laotian land retaken in battle to South Vietnam. In the north,South Korean forces managed to
advance as far North as Bien Son but were expelled shortly afterwards.

Plans for November

Continue to build Infrastructure, Power-Coal facilities, and Oil-Gas facilities.
Continue to upgrade military
Continue to research units
Continue to monitor Vietnam War

USA AAR

November 1950 Summary

General Rene Jean-Baptiste was wondering to himself if was striking a deal with devil. A CIA agent was sitting across from him with a suitcase containing $1 million dollars and list of names. The General was pro-democracy and he wanted to see his country become a democratic nation but the current leader was not taking steps to lead down that path. In fact, the current leader Paul Magliore was leaning towards the Soviets and Communism. The General knew deep down, he did not have the political skills to lead Haiti down the road but his position in Haitian military would allow him to support such a leader. He had asked the Americans for a list of names that thought they could work with in help to achieve the goal of establishing a democracy in Haiti. One name stood out on the list, it wasnt the Americans 1st choice but he knew Francois Durce was a man that could lead Haiti down the road it needed to take. Francois Durce believed in Democracy as much as he did and he was certain Durce would take steps to install a Democratic government. The General told the CIA agent sitting across from him that he would agree to help replace the current regime and put Durce in as the leader of Haiti. The General then gave a short operation plan which involved the arresting of Durce for his protection until the coup was over. The CIA agent agreed and handed over the suitcase. If the coup failed the General would need to the money to escape the country and start a new life. The Generals plan would start Dec. 5th.

Project Legacy construction projects have slowed down considerable but still continue. DAR rose a tenth of a % point but with unemployment up another tenth of % point to 3.5% the continual rise may stall out. The enourmous debt continues to be the main focal point in critizing the Hundane Administrations policies by the opposition.

Finance minister Harry Weslie reports that the rating on social programs have leveled off since the new spending policies were enacted in October 49. He recommended the Administration to fund research on improving the ratings and to help lower costs instead of cutting funding in those programs. President Hundane assured him that no cuts were on table as of yet and would think on the research idea.

Minister of State reported that she got assurances from the diplomats of Muscat & Oman that they would more than likely support the US positions on future UN votes. Relations with other regions continue to stay the same or have been improved except in Guatemala. The Guatemalans supposedly elected Davor Marcos, a socialist candidate. The US has condemned the elections, saying the votes were rigged but have been unable to provide proof to the U.N. Intel reports suggest that Americans working in Guatemala may be at risk if the government nationalizes the industries in that region as expected. The President has ordered a carrier to the area to assist in the evacuation of Americans and other foriegn workers in Guatemala if needed. Relations with Ethiopia are not improving as fast as we had hoped but they are well prepared to annex Eritrea when it goes independent.

Minister of Commodites issued no report, he is currently on a 2wk vacation.

Research minister George Armstrong reports the US developed a new missile and new tanker. The tanker design was sold to some allies that had the technology. A new artillery design should be completed the 1st of December.

Defense Minister Rachel Chase reports the US continues to upgrade the military. We have sold Ethiopia some Recon and AT vehicles as well as few transport aircraft , helo transports will sold early next month.

The War in Vietnam continues but the French Allied regions are now dealing with a logistical cluster****. The heavy and continual military traffic on the muddy roads of South Vietnam have made the area north of Da Nang a nightmare to try to move supplies and equipment. With the monsoon season ending the rice paddy fields along most of the roads are full of water making bypassing broken down, out of fuel or stuck in the mud vehicles very risky. The coordination of the various regions militaries involved has also hampered the movement and has contributed to the cluster****. Squabbling between the military leaders of France, and the rest of its European allies has more or less stalled any possible offensive and is effecting their ability to defend the positions they have currently. South Korean military have threatened to pull out their military if the European regions dont resolve the issue.

Plans for December
Continue to build Power-Coal and Agriculture facilities.
Try to increase Goods production
Continue to research units
Continue to upgrade military
Continue to improve global relations

USA AAR

December 1950 Summary

President Hundane listened to General of the Army, Omar Bradley as he gave his proposal about future military deployments. The recent upheavel in Guatemala made it look as though the Soviets were gaining support in the Central American Theatre. The Haitian coup d'etat will help the US in deny the Soviets access to the area. The General pointed out a flaw in the current US defense strategy and suggested that additional troops were needed to secure seapiers along the US coastlines. He also pointed out the that one of the treaties immediately signed by the US and Haitian government was a Mutual Defense treaty, the General suggested that the US should put a strong US presence in the country to deter any thought of an attack on Haiti or nearby regions. President Hundane agreed to plans and signed the necessary orders.

The DAR dropped for the first time since Feb. 1950. It was only a tenth of % point but the Hundane Administration is very concerned. Unemployment rose again this month and domestic sales dropped. Production has been increased in all commodities but the lack of Power has still not allowed industries to produce at full capacity.

Agriculture Commidty Czar Jon Wheat reported that he lowered the domestic price of Agriculture on the 14th.

Research minister George Armstrong reports that research continues to be focused on new unit designs. A new transport and frigate have completed development this month as well a new self propelled artillery.

Defense minister Rachel Chase discussed the flaw in the current US defense plans and reports that steps are being taken to secure those areas.

A coup d'etat in Haiti happened on the 6th of the month. The US quickly established multiple treaties with the new Haitian government that is Pro USA.

A war is expected in Africa. Eritrea will announce its independence on the 1st of January, Ethiopia is expected to annex the former UK colony by military action. The US has been aiding the Ethiopian government with vehicles and supplies in the hopes that it will be a quick war with low casualties.

The War in Vietnam in still ongoing with no end in sight. The French Allied units conducted a small offensive this month in attempt to retake Vinh and the vital western avenue approach to the capital of Laos. A combined Soviet and Chinese counter-attack repelled the French Allied offensive. The Chinese and Soviet forces control the air over Laos and North Vietnam and continue to deny French Allied forces vital supplies on any attempt to rescue the Laotian capital still under siege from Soviet artillery.

Plans for January

Continue to slowly build Power-Coal facilities to increase production of goods.
Moniter the Vietnam War.
Continue upgrading military
Establish a strong military presence in Haiti.
Monitor and aid the Ethiopians in the expected military actions on newly independent Eritrea
