Missiles in proxy war - bug or intended?

Post by number47 »

Is it possible to use missiles in a proxy war? HUH

Specifically in the following situation: Korean War, can Russia fighting on NK side use missiles against USA who is fighting on SK side? I'm asking because either it is not possible, or I'm doing something wrong? (hopefully it is the later :D )

Similar thing I noticed while playing North Vietnam. As NV I could use missiles against France (with who I was at war) but not against France allies who were fighting a proxy war... :-?

Unless I'm doing something wrong and this is working as intended, inability to use missiles against proxy combatants just sucks

It probably doesn't work. I guess it works like the paradrops where you aren't actually going from the nations airfield but the para's are actually dropping from the plane which is counted as your territory and so they don't drop. Guess the same goes for missiles (the launcher is in friendly territory, but the missile is launched from the launcher which is yours, and so thinks it will be launched from your territory which isn't allowed)

Since this was mentioned in another thread I should update this. This issue was unresolved, it is at present a limitation of the engine.

This remains an open issue in SR1936 and SR Ultimate.

With a tendency to remain open indefinitely or...?

For Cold War, I don't expect it will get resolved. I don't usually close off the tickets, just in case.
