The Netherlands - Getting Tech's Deserved SRU & Other Changes (SRU & SR-GW)

Post by geminif4ucorsair »

The Netherland's comes up rather short on Tech's, for SR-36 / SRU.
The following should be included:

* * Submarine Technology 1935 -

* * SRU - the Netherlands had been building submarines since 1911 (O-2 series).
In 1913, the were building the Hay-Whitehead "K1", followed in 1915 by the Holland )O.8.....
this also applies to SR-Great War early sub building technology (as maybe applies)

* * Basic Torpedo Design -

Dutch built their own torpedoes for submarines, cruisers, and destroyers, plus torpedo planes throughout the WW One thru 1940 period, including:

* Mk.XIIa (1901-on), Mk XIIb (1903-on), I.45/II.45/IV.45, II.53 (1928-46), and IV.45 (1935-45).....during WW2
the relied on transferred torpedoes from the UK that came with British destroyer transfers.

This tech should also be included in SR-Great War.

* * Early Naval Electronics

New cruiser DE RUYTER (launched March 1935) had adequate electronics to meet this requirement.

* * Number of Land Fabrication facilities should increase to TWO......
representing:
* De Artillerie-Inrichtingen
* Siderius

* * DELETE Units from Construction Options:

* K. REgentes (1904) - stricken 1920
* De Zeven Provinciën (1910) - scuttled '42
* Jacob van Heemskerck (1908) - derelict WW 2, hulked & renamed '48

In SR-36, there are 4 Capital ships, including the above three, that should all be deleted (if you go back and update SR-36).
No one should be building these ships (including the AI) in 1936.

* * INCLUSION in SR-Great War -
* De Zeven Provinciën (1910).....this was classified as a Coastal Defense Ship in WW One.

That's true, but thats just '36.. Netherlands is also prime A partner in the JSF project. So Netherlands should also have about 20 techs for that, Also unique level in the world of naval stealth and radar technology, why they are always first to be asked for missions with either airforce or naval operations by NATO.
Not even mentioning the lack of medical techs and computer technology.

If you're going to suggest techs, including the ID of the tech item would helpful. The ID of the region doesn't hurt either.

When you say "delete from construction" do you mean they should be marked as obsolete designs so they filter out by default? We don't usually remove designs just because the region stopped producing them.

SR-36/SR-36 v.9.1.23.

ADD:
* * TECH: EARLY NAVAL ELECTRONICS

Country: NETHERLANDS
Region: WESTERN EUROPE [used to be Netherlands/Belgium but don't see....it would be appropriate]

As for ship in game:

INCUDE in Ship List:

* K. Regentes (1904) - stricken 1920
* De Zeven Provinciën (1910) - scuttled '42
* Jacob van Heemskerck (1908) - derelict WW 2, hulked & renamed '48

SR-36U v.9.1.23 - delete all from Ship List

SR-GW - allow Build only for De Even Provincien........Class as a Guard Ship (PATROL)

* K. Regentes - Class: PATROL (Coastal Defense / Guard Ship)
* Jacob ban Heemskerck - Class: PATROL (Coastal Defense / Guard Ship)
