MP networks and Tunngle

Post by Hullu Hevonen »

Have been testing alternativ ways of playing SR1936 online, Hamachi works, for most people or people simply don't like it, GameRanger does not support SR1936, no Steam mp support and direct IP very seldom/never works. I am now testing Tunngle, it combines features from GameRanger and Hamachi. So you can imagine the frustration some people may feel when it's hard to get simple MPs going.

For those who haven't heard of Tunngle, check it out!
1. You register, like when using GameRanger
2. You download and install Tunngle
3. Join an network, just like in Hamachi, find contacts and easily chat like in GameRanger. This network is open to everyone.

So far I'm liking it :) and it dosen't seem to bottleneck the game speeds. It also allows direct filesharing via it's service, so if some player craches, no more uploading to some site and the waiting for guys to download.

Ah, so you did try Tungle then Hullu, I will install it later.

@Chris, Himachi is a no go for Win8.1 users at the moment due to a bug that causes BSODing on a regularish basis. I thought I had a virus but my computer was clean.

Any chance that the steam method is still on the list of things your looking at potentially implementing?

Yeah, but then there where less people having trouble with Hamachi, I didn't suffer as much as I currently do so in my desperation I need to go find more options :P .

Scuba, well if you installed "Himachi" then yes it was a virus 8)
