HOT SPOTS Functionality

Post by davidclaywood »

Wonderful game, I have invested well over 2000 hours playing the game.
Please explain your intended use of 'Hot Spots'? I do not understand this feature. I imagined if a place was attacked or needed attention it would show up in this so called Hot List. If this is the case I am just stupid and cannot figure it out. Otherwise I would like to see a feature like Hot Spots that a gamer could use to set sites they might want to return to from time to time to take care of things. I really would appreciate you all clearing this up.

Thank You for your Enlightened and Hard Work.

PS
I will buy Great War As soon as you integrate Way Points, Mustering Points(Per Production Facility) and add some German Tech and units for after 1943

That Hotspot feature works like you described as the 2nd option.
You set a location and the action you want your army do there, and also in the hotspot list you can doubleclick on it and the view goes there. If you like to have such bookmarks use some non-important mission like garrison an everything on low , then you have a working bookmark without being clutttered by your army.

Beware that if you set Battlezone or Theatre to high setting, the defense department will issue a lots of hotspots by itself.

If i dont want to abuse the AI with a blob of doom - i use a few Attack Hotspots with max settings, and if i see my flag under that hotspot i delete it (so the army can move with greater force to the next hotspot) . In my opinion the next best way to indirect control your army without waypoints.

Mustering points -

You can set Rally points which may work for you. I show how in the following video;
