Why My GDP Droped 6% in A Month?

Post by Franc007She »

I started a game with PR China and the 2017 start. Now it is April, 2042. My GDP per capital per year is 138 k while that of RO China is 41 k. l declared war upon Taiwan and united the nation in a week. But My GDP per capital droped to 130 k and is still becoming lower and lower in early May. What is the reason for this?

I can never remember which one is which. I personally prefer to go by the labels of China and Taiwan because it simplifies things. lol. Either way, basically what's happening is you're absorbing a large number of people that earn less money, and it's trying to balance out. The territory you conquered isn't producing enough jobs to employ all the new people you've brought into your territory. It might balance itself out on its own after enough time, or you can try to increase spending in some area to stabilize things faster on your own.

Maybe your approval dropped due to war and the part of you unloyal new land (if loyalty penalty is on) produces less (in your game even lower GDP and now only 60% of it) , so you GDP takes a hit.
Since PR China is quit larger me thinks that the hit in approval could have the major impact, if you have a save before hitting the red button compare the domestic approval rating.

would not help that much releasing them - it just takes time to get back to previous levels
since the major problem is your own population approval of the war your started.
