[MOD] Cold War Enhanced (1.3.2)

Current Version 1.3.2 (6/6/2020)

Description:
Cold War Enhanced

This mod was designed to fix many problems that our MP group encountered in the Cold War sandbox. After some grievance among us I decided to fix these issues. Eventually this mod became a completely new scenario that overhauled the entire cold war. Changes are in the multi-hundreds.

There are 250+ custom events, and 750+ of edited events.

Scenarios:
CWE: Standard (No starting units with new unit alterations.)
CWE with Units: Above with starting units.
CWE Classic: Standard Classic (No starting units with NO unit alterations (vanilla units))
CWE Classic with Units: Above with starting units.

Why are there scenarios with and without units?
This is done to simplify the game saves and help reduce file sizes on saves. Optimized for no units multiplayer starts.(Faster load).

Key Features:
Korean War:
  • Whichever Korea wins wins, will have other Korea loyalty changed to it.
  • Korea border set to 38th parallel and loyalties.
Indochina Wars:
  • Whichever Vietnam wins wins, will have other Vietnam loyalty changed to it.
  • North Vietnam will change its capital to Hanoi.
  • Laos and Cambodia gain independence in 1954 with relations and political outcomes based on First Indochina war.
    ***WIP*** Second Indochina War (Vietnam War) 1955-1975
German Reunification War:
  • Whichever Germany captures the other will have its loyalty changed to it.
  • If Saarland still exist, it will be given to victor.
Historical Political Unions:
  • USSR is one country with loyalty.
  • China starts with Tibet province with its loyalty.
  • China starts with Xinjiang province with its loyalty.
  • China now starts at war with Taiwan with the option to create a ceasefire or continue war and unite China.
  • Spanish Morocco, Mali Federation, and several other countries have been fixed.
Custom Map:
  • Included missing islands from WW2 scenarios.
  • Included balanced rubber. (more spots in geographic areas, and more countries with starting plantations)
  • Sea oil spots
  • Many fixes.
Proper Decolonization in Africa and World:
  • Oh boy this took FOREVER to fix.
New Flags:
  • Iraq flags 1921-Present.
  • Belgian Congo.
  • Mali Federation.
  • Sudan Colonial and First independent flag.
  • General flag corrections.
So many other little fixes here and there see forum for change log.

I believe its worth noting the previous updates:
Update 1:
-Whichever Korea wins the Korean war gains access to both units orgins.
-Natural leader deaths now work if playing as a country.
-Election leader change scripts work if playing as a democracy.
-Coup d'etat trigger on player countries.
*Removed design R-11 from France
*Fixed Sudan independence.
*Removed Eastern Block units from China & N.Vietnam.

Update 2:
-Can now play as colonies.
-Optimized for no units multiplayer starts.(Faster load)
-Adjusted USSR power-grid.
-Added dynamic flag changing to Egypt.
-Added modern clothing and early medical tech to all full nations
*Fixed Egypt revolution date to 1952.
*Fixed Mali Federation.

Update 3:
-Player colonies can declare independence with war on parent.
-Gibraltar now part of UK.
-Changed loyalty of Guantanamo bay water to Cuba.
-Korea border set to 38th parallel and loyalties.
-New Map:
-Included missing islands from WW2 scenarios.
-Included balanced rubber.

Planned/In Works:
-War against all NATO and war against all Warsaw if declared war on.
-African independence unit designs.
-Control over sea oil fields.

I've been very busy the past few months I plan to get it finished in May.
The mod itself is almost done however a game extender/wrapper is necessary to accommodate all functions of the mod. (colonies playable)
Perhaps I'll release a lightweight version soon.

After many months of procrastination and overnight summer shifts I have finally built this mod into a piece of art. Of course it has some minor issues ATM so feel free to let me know, and if you know anything that would be handy to add (excluding foreign military bases) please submit them here:

Here is the change log/ progress report as of 10/1/2019 11:56pm:

Update 1:
-Whichever Korea wins the Korean war gains access to both units origins.

-China has the ability to end the civil war by invading the island of Taiwan.(Loyalty changes to victor)
-First Indochina War overhauled.(Loyalty changes to victor)
-Korean War overhauled.(Loyalty changes to victor)
-Added custom news pop ups.
-Australia, New Zealand, Israel start with more allies.
-Added some WW1 music to their respected origin country.
-Adjusted South American units available to research.
*Fixed German units and tech so that it NEVER AGAIN has an unfair advantage.
*Fixed duplicated news events for war of independence's.
*Adjusted US tech to balanced position similar to Germany's fix.
*Made minor map changes.

Update 6:
*Fixed South Africa tech level.
-Added persistence to decolonization.

Update 7:
-New map(Includes: North Sea oil sites, More rubber, American Samoa, Western Samoa, Cook Islands, Small Fixes).
-Overhauled world starting tech.
-Altered West Africa to playable.
-Altered Equatorial Africa to playable.
-Added Getúlio Vargas Dictatorship period in Brazil.
*Finally fixed West Africa decolonization.
*Tweaked operation AJAX
*Fixed Kuwait leader change on independence.

Update 8:
-WW3 mechanic.(Respect NATO and WARSAW relations or else :D) <-----Future Feature. Has been removed for the time being.
-Added oil spots to ocean regions(Given to historical owner once sea oil extraction is researched).
-Congo now playable.
*Finally fixed French incursions into Soviet Union.
*Fixed Zimbabwe independence leader, flag, and country name.
*Other minor fixes.

Update 9:
-Released stable lightweight version.
Excludes:
WW3, Playable colonies.
(Large performance issues ATM.)
*Fixed Operation Ajax.
*Laos and Cambodia will now be released as communist Warsaw aligned countries if N.Vietnam takes them over.
*Adjusted Italian units.
*Adjusted to new localization system.
*Other minor event fixes.
*Fixed W.Africa decolonization again. :)
*Egypt coup 1953 is now a 100% chance.
*Mali Federation is back and working when it should.
*Some event optimizations.

Update 10:
-Changed major nation colors to unique ones.
-Finished Indochina events.
-Added small future events for Cambodia and Laos(Historic playthrought).
-Merged lightweight branch to master.
*Gave US direct control of Pearl Harbor, and Anchorage Port.
*Removed automated assembly lines from US, UK, France.
*Gave France more artillery.

Update 11:
-Added 4 modes:
CWE: no units with new unit alterations.
CWE Units: units with new unit alterations.
CWE Vanilla: no units with vanilla units. (Save file size saver)
CWE Vanilla Units: units with vanilla units.
-Added more unique region colors.
*Fixed China tech level
*Removed BTR from China
*Gave some S.E Asia nations more tech groups.
*Fixed minor Indochina loyalty spots after it falls.
*Fixed duplicate/wrong news popups after unification events.
*Some optimizations.
*Fixed S.Vietnam never getting independence from France past 2nd Indochina war.
*Altered default scenario settings.

1.2 Was originally planed to go out on Halloween but a windstorm knocked my connection to the internet out.

Update 12 (1.2):
-Suez Cannal loyalty changes to Egypt on nationalization.
-Zambia will now come into existance with name and flag.
-Added Mali Federation flag.
-Added Belgian Congo flag.
-Added Georgy Malenkov breif leadership of USSR.
-Made unit production facilities cost more.
-Made research centers cost more.
*Map rendering has been optimized.
*Removed all decolonization conditions.
*Fixed N.Vietnam victory sucession.

I have some requests and I hope to fulfill them
It consists in fixing the names and pictures of the heads of third world countries in the game
Especially Arab heads of state
And I can help in the names of presidents
And their images and the way they reach power
Except through a revolution, a military coup, or a democratic way etc...
As you know, the Cold War is a historic era in the world
Therefore, it is necessary to mention historical events, at least to increase the realism of the game
My second request is also to change the flags of the countries automatically
For example, the monarchy of Egypt after the overthrow of the king became a republic and the Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser then changed the shape and color of the flag , The same is true for both Iraq and Syria After the revolutions and coups of the new presidents, they changed the color and shape of the flag.
There are several other things that should be included in the upcoming updates for this mod
For example, in Iraq after the revolution and the overthrow of the monarchy
There have been several military coups that brought several military leaders or politicians to power. Then came the last coup that brought President Saddam Hussein to power.
The same is true in Syria

Update 13(1.3):
-Added custom Iraq flags and change over events.
-Added custom Syria flags and change over events.
-Gave Congo, North Congo loyalty.
-Gave Czechoslovakia, Czech loyalty.
-Gave Yugoslavia, Serbia loyalty.
-Added Warsaw Pact and NATO hotspots in Europe.
-Warsaw Pact nations no longer become NATO leaning so easily.
*Fixed missing sudan independence email.
*Fixed issue reguarding aden protectrate not being absorbed by Yemen.
*The First Indochina War now will come to peace on correct date.
*Reversed Mali Federation emails.
*Altered colors of various countries.
