Yes

The only thing I would take a second look at is Diplo Merchant Marine. When it is off, and you sale units to an overseas country, the units will stay in your country, on your territory, if the buyer cannot transport them. This results in various units from other countries dotted around your lands and nothing you can do about it.

Ok I changed Merchant Marine to yes. We have to select a map and agree what time we will start. Fistalis said he is available early in the morning.

Which scenario is it? Cold war, 1936, 2020?
What is the Victory condition? I hope 'complete' ?

I don't like these settings:

Loyalty Penalties to Supply and LoS: Yes
Makes bigger countries even stronger while making smaller nations even weaker if they try to expand.

Resources: Standard
Initial Funds: Default
It is better to start with high in both to help AI.

Allow Nuke: Yes Penalty: High
This means nukes are almost never useful. Make Penalty: low, for better gameplay.

Start Without Units: Yes
This is a game breaker. It makes the game nonsensical and very unfair to the AI countries. Play with this setting only if you just wanna have fun for a few hours and then drop the game forever.

Enhanced Spotting and Ranges: On
This is basically "cheats: on".

Units Eliminated when Region Falls: Yes
Why? Why remove guerilla warfare from the game?

Lastly, Diplomatic Merchant Marine: yes
I think when this is set to YES, it makes units travel through the world when they are traded. When set to NO it automatically transfers the units. So set to NO if you want to avoid stuck units around the world.

I think 2020 Global Crisis map.
Victory complete
We wont be playing the superpowers so let them be even stronger.
I'm not sure about the resources. I want to make them default.
Nuke penalty maybe we will set to medium or low.
We will start without units because we dont need any extra lag. AI will build tons of units along the way.
Spotting, I'm not sure about that, I think we should leave it on.
Its a good idea to eliminate units after a region falls because then you remove tons of units and reduce lag.
I would want to turn off merchant marine because this way you reduce lag too. But we are still debating.

I am going to update the first post.
Kristijonas, are you playing with us this Saturday? You would have to commit to long-term game.

Select your countries and let me know what time you want to start. Fistalis wants to start around 8:30am Eastern.

Thanks but starting with no units is a game breaker for me. Also I'm already in a very-long term game, currently in year 2035 if not further.

Loyalty penalties are also highly demotivating to me because loyalty system is very poorly done in this game. I have suggested many times to the developers to allow a single hex to have more than one loyalty and for it to be possible to change loyalties with time, somehow, but apparently engine limitations make it impossible. Because, for example, in 1936, as Lithuanian, I know that Memel should be loyal to both Lithuania and Germany, Vilnius should be loyal to both Lithuania and Poland. As it is, Memel is loyal only to Germany and Vilnius is loyal only to Lithuania and it's unchangable.

After a few tests, I changed my understanding of Diplo MM. I now agree with your initial setting of off. It is in fact when I have Diplo MM on, that some foreign units stay within my borders after a sale. I also agree about some of the changes Kris has typed, but at this point, I would rather just get on with it..

Ok, we will turn off Diplo MM. It just spams units all over the map. I changed some settings based on Kris' feedback. I lowered Nuke penalties to medium. Guys dont worry about no units in the beginning. AI will build new units quickly withing a couple of game months. And we dont have to sort old units out. It will make the game run faster. Kris if you change your mind and join us it would be more fun with more people.

Also, choose your countries.

Fistalis, we all know about your military-industrial complex party in Luxembourg :) You can't detect our super spies.

I am mostly adjusting time for Fistalis because he works at night and he will play with us right after his work. He will be available until noon. We can start at 9am or 9:30am EST. I wish people told us what time is good for them, but not everyone is posting here.

Is anybody from the West coast?

Hey all,

I'm having a tough time deciding, but I've been looking at playing as Ukraine, Myanmar, Portugal, Albania, or Kurdistan.

So yeah, I probably pick one of those at some point soon.
