* There is inconsistency in the number of aircraft within each unit under the aircraft Cat 13 Reconnaissance types.
Some of 9 aircraft per unit, but the SR 'standard' is 12 aircraft.
This should be true all the way through SR-1949 Cold War. Probably the largest number of incorrect aircraft in squadrons is in SR-36/36U, but there are a lot in SR-1914 as well (too many to compile a Forum list).
A simple computer scrub of Cat 13 Recon type would solve this problem - where all are changed to 12 aircraft.
Thanks for considering.

Re: SRGW & SR36U - Inconsistent number of aircraft in Cat 13 Recon units
So this is a topic that is worth a bit of attention (now that I'm finally getting to it).
As part of SRGW development, the WMData file was given a new function. There is a new line that looks like this in SR1914.WMData;
This line sets the default at a point in time. We added this because in 1914, initial tank battalions were deployed in very low numbers of tanks. In this case, 12. If you look in SR1936.WMData you'll find that the value there is 44.
The way the engine uses the WMData files is as trends. It does look ahead. So around 1928, a tank battalion might build to a strength of 30 pieces. When it gets to 1936, it would be at 44 pieces and would be stable from that point forward because ever other WMData file uses 44.
So, for Class 13, what should be the default sizes at each of 1914, 1936, 1942, 1949 and 2020?

Re: SRGW & SR36U - Inconsistent number of aircraft in Cat 13 Recon units
The most consistent would be:
* * 1914: 9 - specifically for single/twin/trimotor designs, early in WW One period.....
6 - for 4-motor designs, including Airships / Blimps / Dirigibles, that came late in war thru 1920s/early-30s [seaplane and land-based patrol types, specifically].
[ This may cause a problem because of the split, so if it does, stick with "9" ]
------
* * 1936: 12
* * 1942: 12
* * 1949: 9 - This would include such aircraft as single/twin-engine jets (Swift FR., RF-84F Thunderstreak,
Canberra PR-variants, various ASW aircraft (PB4Y Privateer, P-2 Neptune, P-3 Orion, Nimrod,
Lancaster, Wellington, and any of the other 4-engine patrol bomber types.)
* * 2020: 9 - [as above]
Sorry for delay in responding and thanks for any changes you can implement.

So which is it, 9 or 6? The engine supports only one size per class.geminif4ucorsair wrote:* * 1914: 9 - specifically for single/twin/trimotor designs, early in WW One period.....

The rest of the eras are changed for the next update.

But he said it in his original post, you probably just overlooked it...Balthagor wrote:So which is it, 9 or 6? The engine supports only one size per class.geminif4ucorsair wrote:* * 1914: 9 - specifically for single/twin/trimotor designs, early in WW One period.....
