SR-Great War: De-coupling Certain Countries Economies from "Motherland"

Post by geminif4ucorsair »

One of the problems with the economic system as designed in SR-Great War is linking certain colonies with their "motherland".

For example, India and South Africa are integral with the UK - you do not trade with the separately. They are linked directly with the UK. Similarly, the Dutch East Indies (Netherland East Indies; NEI) is "coupled" with the Netherlands.
At least this is my view.

In the real world of the post-1910 period, all of these economies operated as separate economies.

Solution: Each of the above British Commonwealth countries should be structures as a separate country, as Australia and New Zealand are; the same applies to the NEI/DEI with the Netherlands.

Hope this can be done in a forthcoming Update.

I'd like more opinions on this - Should India be a Colony? Should South Africa be a Colony? Should DEI be a colony?

Someone might wish to make a mod so the impact of this change could be tested.

I don't think so. They were colonies after all. SAR and Australia were not.

East Indies was not a seperate economy from Netherlands, they just had their own army. The elite profit massively from that colony, and they made sure the local population was supressed.
