SRGW - gifting a copy or two

Post by GIJoe597 »

Hello - This is general discussion about SRGW. I have so far enjoyed the game. BG gave me a free copy, and I want to gift away a couple of copies to show support. As some of you may know I have a Youtube channel which is 100% ad free and non monetized. This is not about that, ha!

I will select at least two people who post in this thread why they want the game. What their experience with the series is and what your Steam handle is. I need your Steam name in order to gift the game. I will consider all who post here up till the end of Sept 4th, 2017. (I will not return home until Aug 24th or 25th. This will give me at least 1 week to review posts in detail.)

Current List

P.S. Having an existing AAR somewhere on this site might be a plus.

Nice initiative. I could use a copy, however I should say I AM NOT a fan of GW era nor do I think this game is any better than previous SR games and I am one of those who think BG should have focused on SR:U and released DLCs for it instead of making a new game leaving the Ultimate without a new scenario.

So yeah, I might not enjoy the game as much as some other people so better give away to more enthusiastic bunch :D That being said I could still use a copy because I'm still a fan of the series and would love to play around. I'm in between jobs now so won't get my next salary until October and even then not sure if I'll be able to buy it then. And frankly I'd feel better buying a second copy of SRU than GW. So yeah :D Really hope you'll make someone else really happy with this give away but just in case there won't be any true enthusiasts and since I still need it... Everyone should also feel free to add me on Steam and invite me to games :P

This is actually awesome of you. I'll add my name to the list but I'd prefer if you gave others preference before me. The game's not expensive but I just don't have the spare funds at the moment, but fully intend to endorse their work as soon as that changes. So if there are others that would like to take advantage of it, then by all means give it to them first and I'll buy a copy of my own hopefully soon. :)

Not 100% positive if this is the right way to get my steam ID, but if my google search to figure it out was correct then this should be it: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198035406209/

Either way, I've been meaning to check your channel out so this is the perfect reminder I needed. :)

From what I understand BG is exploring the option of adding SR:GW as DLC to SRU with existing of SR:GW getting it for free. No idea what the end result will be though.

Also I agree that it is definitely a nice gesture.

First i've heard of that.. but if true a good decision given that SRU was billed as the penultimate version...

Would certainly save the mod community from the inevitable "can you port X old scenario to SRGW" requests. I would rather see a way for BG to monetize it than to port old scenarios to SRGW and bg lose income from it. But i Digress that discussion is for another topic.

/end derailment

On topic.. nice initiative.. considering i was gifted a copy by BG look for something similar from me in the future..when finances allow.

Just curious did you google this or knew it? :-) Also what does 07 mean in this context? Attempt of a masonic greeting I bet.

I do not "google" anything. I Bing.

07 is a salute, it is a form of greeting I have been using for almost 15 years, which is more popular in Eve Online. Since I was in the military, now retired, I have always preferred the 07 over any version of 0/, the wave people used to use.
