If I understand correctly, SRGW is not playable into WW2 and modern era??

Anyway, I support DLC idea for SRU.

As long as there are no big changes, new important features, SRGW can only be a DLC.

@Zuikaku - there is no year limit, you can play SRGW into 2017 and beyond, but you can't start later than 1917 and the events are focused on the first world war years.

@dax1 - The games would get the same content. If we added something to the stand alone, it would also be added to the DLC version.

So since I own SRGW and SRU. Will the SRGW content merge into my SRU folder so I can just open up SRU to play the 1914 or 1917 content? If that is indeed the case I fully support doing it!

That's pretty much the gist of it. It'll be another sandbox/campaigns you can select from within the Ultimate list of dates.

You'll need to move your savegames manually. The rest should all be automatic.

Hmmm I wonder why this game wasn't released as DLC at first place.

Also there could be another DLC or just scenario, that starts in 1900 year.
There would be general '00 techs representing base knowledge on beginning of 20th century.
Not every nation would have all of these techs.

Also 2017/21018 scenario would be nice to represent today world.

I was hoping it would be more of an expansion to ultimate, in the same way DCS world or train sim does it.

I wouldn't mind them going back to the end of the civil war potentially, a time when great advances were being made in ships, and then focusing on improving the naval AI to do task forces, use carriers etc.

I guess if they wanted 19th century techs and scenario, then they would add 100 to every tech level, so for example '39 tech would be '139

So just to verify:

I have bought my first copy. Will probably donate a few more to support ya.
But for the slow feckers in the back o´the bus:

I have FULL functionality in the DLC as compared to the Standalone ?

Yes, 100% same functionality. It's probably all identical files in both games in all aspects that touch the GW scenario. If there'd be a single smallest difference between the versions - it'd probably be a bug.
