as requested, a new thread for discussion of unit movement speeds.
Cavalry currently has a movement speed of 30 kmh, making them almost as fast as motorcycle recon (35kmh), this speed would kill most horses after a few hours, for comparison horse endurance races @160 km/100 miles takes the fastest horses about 14 to 15 hours to complete(giving an average speed of ~9 kmh) and they dont have to carry around military equipment and supplies, so i would suggest putting the speed for horses at 10 kmh (as i understand it the engine takes into account roads and terrain when considering movement speed)
the same issue with the early towed artillery as there isnt any indication of what does the towing, i would say the default should be horse drawn (which was the case up to around the end of ww2) and it should be limited to a road speed of 4 kmh for heavy artillery, 3 for very heavy/siege artillery as these where generally very slow and where reliant on rail transport for the most part, lighter field guns however could potentially be faster at ~5kmh.
Infantry(great war) has a movement speed of 4 kmh, which seems to be slightly on the low side, i think it could do with a little boost to 5 kmh to make it slightly faster than artillery as later models have a movement speed of 6 kmh

Re: Speed of different units artillery, infantry and cavalry
+1 to cavalry to be nerfed in speed, 30kmh would be charging speed rather than moving speed.

Re: Speed of different units artillery, infantry and cavalry
There seems to have been an issue with this thread. I made a post which does not show now and there were at least 5 or so more posts.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endurance_riding
at the extreme, horse endurance rides cover 100 miles or 160 km in one day of 14 or 15 hours, giving an average 9 km per hour, keep in mind this is with a 75 kg rider/load, not fully armed soldiers with all tack and support equipment.
depending on how we deal with it, if the cavalry unit has to be spread over 24 hours with rest and all that, that would give an approximate speed 6 2/3 km/h, which would make them only as fast as upgraded infantry, so the range would have to be between 7 and 10 km/h.
