Since on Great war maps there are almost no roads and knowing that AI never build onesthis can potentialy cause problems with long term games.
AI will suffer the most, since it already handles supply issues really bad.
Any idea how to handle this problem?
Can the engine just "import" roads from later maps after some time passes (like in late '20s), or is it really impossible to teach AI to connect it's major cities, ports and military installations with roads?

not the ideal solution but, once I hit about the 1950s in game I just save the game, move it to the multiplayer folder, and go in to all the other nations and build roads for them.

You are able to play till the 50 ?Cdiplayer wrote:not the ideal solution but, once I hit about the 1950s in game I just save the game, move it to the multiplayer folder, and go in to all the other nations and build roads for them.
I tried it now 3 times from 1914
NO CHANCE the AI is dead after 5 years, because of ENERGY producing at least 100% to few and MILITARY GOODS need 500% more production ...
Now tried Energy and Military +100% with Sweden, AI somehow still surviving , but needs a larger boost for Military Goods production ...
Have to start again
Would like to adjust that values while playing, so it is a pain in the as... LOL
PRODUCTION is broken
VANILLA GAME , USA AI after 10 years ... lol he will never recover and he isn't even in War with me (Germany)
The biggest problem is because of total broken ENERGY production ...
LOL he would have had to build OVER 300 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I repeat 300 Coal Plants to fight this problem ...
no one from BG could have played that ever ....
and yes in Germany I have built them, without cheating LOL

Re: possible problem with SRGW map
Heh, this reminds me of young man memories. I got introduced to "strategy and tactics" games by my history instructor, Dr. Wilson. Great dude, he actually had a Ph.D. in history but chose to go back to the small northwestern Missouri plains agri town to teach High School. Awesome sense of humor. One day "Leslie (whose last name completely eludes me, but I'll just say . . .) Smith," one of the hottest of the cheerleader popular crowd girls comes walking through the cafeteria. Wilson is sitting with a few of us fellow nerds at a table showing us how to play an Avalon Hill game. He looks up and sees her and in reference to the coarse weave slightly baggy yet still clingy sweater she is wearing says "Like two bear cubs wresling in a gunny sack"
I loved those games: Liberty Roads, Paths of Glory, Naploeon's Conquests, even Boot Hill
Thing was: NONE of my gaming buddies wanted to play them. They all preferred D&D or Star Frontiers, or anything other than historical strategy topics.
So i ALWAYS wound up playing against myself. This wasn't hard for a turn-based board game. In fact for a couple years after my wife and I got our house built and before we turned the basement into an apartment I had this massive table with the map for Rise and Decline of the Third Reich all set up and I'd go down and play it from time to time.
It is too bad Supreme Ruler does not afford more functionality to allow users to "assist" the computer opponent in playing and thus facilitate users "playing against themselves" more readily. The real-time nature of the game is, I think, the main obstacle in this regard.

Re: possible problem with SRGW map
unfortunately steam can only launch one instance of the game on the same pc - i guess one-player-hot-seat counts as piracy
