New Map Editor
I was wondering if you can create new nations with the map editor. I was messing around with the editor but I couldn't figure out if I could create new borders and rename nations to create a new one. I always wanted that capability in SRU.

Re: New Map Editor
Yes you can create entirely new regions using the map editor. To do this you need to draw a block and region number combination that does not exist currently in the map. Once the map is edited and saved with new borders for your region you need to edit the .CVP file and add in the new region. Once the region is in the .CVP you need to add its region ID into the .REGIONINCL file to show up in game. Once all this has been done you need to re-cache the .SAV file to apply all the changes.
I suggest starting by reading some of the documentation on the Map Editor, and new Content Editor tools, as well as creating cache files.

Re: New Map Editor
I can't use the map editor for some reason. I've tried using it but it ssaid it couldn't locate my cold war Mapx file. Where did that file go? I looked for it in my maps but couldn't find it.

Re: New Map Editor
The map editor loads maps in by using .scenario files. It looks for these files in the game's \Scenario\Custom folder. To edit the Cold War map, copy the \Sandbox\ColdWar.scenario file into the \Scenario\Custom folder then launch the Map Editor. You should see it in the list when loading maps.

Re: New Map Editor
I did what you said, but after I clicked 1949 and pressed create and launch map editor it and i quote Error has occurred bla bla bla........ "it could not find a part of the 'C:/users/owner/desktop/surpeme ruler/maps/coldwar.mapx. So what step am I missing? Would it be possible for you guys to create a video showing exactly how to use the scenario creator and the asset manager. I know you have directions but its hard to follow them. I'm a visual learned which is why a video tutorial would be best if possible.

Re: New Map Editor
So I have another problem, I'm creating my new country but I have to methodically give loyalty to each hex it takes hours. Is there any way I can just drag my mouse to create a new border? Also its not clear on how to create an island nation all I can do is give loyalty.

Maybe adding the following example to the wiki would help:d-bassett wrote: ↑Aug 04 2018 Yes you can create entirely new regions using the map editor. Re: New Map Editor
Cache it from the sandbox, not the campaign, at this time there appears to be issues with campaign caching(see post #12 ), [has this been fixed in the recent updates?]

Pls Read the whole thread though
Post 11 there gives step by step details on sucessful caching for the SR1936 period including paths, clues on which cache files to backup for which game period you want to edit.
The link given above by d-bassett is useful to read about generalized caching and is not specific to ULTIMATE alone.

Re: New Map Editor
The scenario creator is designed to be pointed at the game install directory, it cannot find the map file because it does not exist where it is looking. Try setting the game directory to where your steam install is and try again. Will look into videos to help guide the process a bit.
