Yes, I was playing China until 2025, then noticed the huge U.S.A. debt of 10,000,000. I swapped to the U.S.A to get them out of debt as I find that a nice change of pace at times. Being limited by money when trying to accomplish world order is fun, also.

I have a very thin line of profitability and as in my UK AAR I am way behind China in Tech level. I was trying to ignore China as I built up the U.S.A. but once they attacked Germany I had to act. We sent the 1st US Expeditionary Force, consisting of 70 brigades of Mech Inf, 70 brigades of Artillery and 70 Heavy Supply trucks to France. These were ordered to dig in and hold a line essentially along the old Maginot positions in an effort to bolster the French defenses.

Unfortunately, the Chinese finished off Germany and turned their attention to France shortly after the picture was taken. The 1st US Expeditionary Force was hammered for a week and then started to crack. We had air support from 2 wings of F-112 Blackbird II, but it was not enough. Sadly, the order to retreat was given. We made it down to Marseille and embarked on waiting transports and just as we were by Sardinia, Italy capitulated. Thinking fast, we promptly invaded Sardinia. We now control the island amidst the Chinese holdings. A small, ragtag force holding out against daily air attacks and random naval fire. France, Spain and Portugal eventually fell, Chinese forces are marching along the North African Coast and have just reached the border of Morocco. We are not allied with Morocco at this time, but will do our best to ally with them and hold the coast as it is the only way we have of sending relief forces to the Mediterranean

So you can see why I was distracted. :)

May 12, 2038 (still)

As soon as I un-paused the game the infernal Russians came in again with their thrice damned missile spewing air force. It is now a daily event, air raid sirens around the clock, and the uncanny vvzzzzt vvvzzzt of those T-17L Polar Bear phasers.
NOTE: I see no need to post yet more pictures of Russian missiles raining down on the fleet, you know what it looks like by now.

Our forces have performed splendidly, a stout bunch, one and all. Yet, even they are reaching their breaking point. For 6 long years we have stood against the Russian Hordes, holding the line, once again the sole beacon of hope in a world turned mad. It was 2 years ago we landed in this godforsaken place, eastern Siberia. No one remembers what it was like to have uninterrupted sleep, to sit down to a nice hot meal and eat in peace.

While we wait for the Aussie assets to be repaired and moved to Siberia we are being steadily worn down. Time was not on our side.

Back in April, Sir Ian Wellington, Air Vice Marshal of Bomber Command suggested we should not set sail for Petropavlovsk until a “buffer” zone had been established around our perimeter. Despite the daily attacks, Royal Air Force’s HQ Air Command situated, at Naphill in Buckinghamshire, agreed and a campaign to push the Russ back from our lines was started. In hind sight, this may have been a mistake, as every day we postpone more and more Russian missiles rain down on us. The Aussie vessels are still in dry dock back in the home isles, they took a beating from a typhoon on their journey to Great Britain. Repairs are estimated to take another 3 – 5 weeks.

Royal HQ has revised its orders; no further delay can be made. We must take out that air base now or we may not a navy left to attempt it.

13 May 2038

As we set sail the Russian probing forces push to within 20 kms of our perimeter, underscoring the need to have the RN and RAF both providing protection. It will be a lonely, horrendous hell for the brave lads on the ground as we move away not only with our large guns but also the entire RAF Combat Air Patrol. Leaving only the Bombers to do what they can. For in the end, if we cannot successfully assault Petropavlovsk it will not matter if they are assisting in defense or not, eventually, inevitably, the Russ will wear us down.

Fleet
12 - SSN-20 Astute Submarines
8 – DDR-187 Atlantic Sea Destroyers
2- DDR D-34 Diamond Destroyer
4 – DDG-45 Daring Destroyers
1 – CVN-78 Gerald R Ford Carrier
5 – F-35C CV Lightning II JSF
1 – AE Civilian Cargo ship

Image

As the course is set, each one of us ponders the future. Will we have a future, what about me mates. Who will come through this and who will not? Sobering thoughts, especially given that we have endured so much for so long. Still, we find cheer in the fact that we have good British steel between us and the Horde. Not like those SAS chaps who will be coming in riding a paper thin cargo plane and then have to float down into the hornets’ nest.

The plan is for the fleet to close to 200 kms, then the Fighters will be sent in. The fleet will then steam full speed directly at the base as the 747 is ordered in with the SAS/SF. As stated previously, nothing matters except getting that air base. Each crew member understands this and has come to terms with it in their own way. Some read a bible, some tell obnoxious jokes, and others sit alone quietly.

Video screens of the fleet are showing videos to remind us why we are here and what we are fighting for.

19 May 2038

Reports are flowing in of the Russian advance back at the base. They are having a tough time as the Russ uses our absence to force the perimeter. The small probing forces of the Russians have been joined by their Vanguard forces and are pressing in hard in the south west and center.

NOTE: Red line was the Russian front as of one week ago.

Image

The same day we receive reports of Russian Naval forces sending a single Baikal Frigate to probe the Channel defenses. It falls prey to one of our Astute flotillas.

Image

On this day we also get an urgent communiqué from Meutia Effendi of Indonesia. She is requesting our Sub flotilla in the area to engage Russian Naval forces in two separate locations. The first is the Riau Islands. It seems the citizens have all been killed and/or fled as the town is now abandoned except for the single Garrison and she fears a small assault force will capture the town.

The second location is a single Russ BB bombarding the coastal areas of West Sulawesi in the Makassar Strait. Oddly enough, she was given advance warning of the BB by a Columbian Guided Missile Cruiser which has been shadowing the Russian vessel.

Columbia is not at war with Russia and we are at a loss to explain their presence in Indonesian waters, some 8000 miles from home. However, they are allies of ours and it is possible the rest of the world is starting to understand the threat the Russian Federation poses.

Image
Image

We also receive word from Wavel Michel, leader of the Seychelles, of a single Russian frigate in the area. Apparently, one of their FB-22s en route to Sri Lanka overflew the frigate. Again, we cannot explain why the Seychelles have FB-22s. It is interesting to notice they already have 2 Squadrons based at Vavuniya, Sri Lanka with a third on the way.

It does not escape us that this location is perfect for a strike against Russian Forces in the former India.

Image
Image

We allow ourselves a glimmer of hope that finally, the rest of the world is taking note of our stand.

We order the Astute flotilla N to engage the Russians in the Riau Island area.

Image

The Battleship in the Makassar Strait will have to wait for now as we have no assets near enough to send in. Once the Astute subs have cleared Riau area they will be tasked to eliminate the Battleship.

We have a squadron of Eurofighters based at Diego Garcia with a combat range of 3,700kms. The Frigate is only 976kms NW of the base. The planes are loaded with AGM-84A Harpoon 1A anti-ship missiles and sent on their way to dispatch the Russian Frigate.

Image

The Frigate west of Diego Garcia is eliminated.

Image

Only one of the Russian ships was present when we arrived at the Riau Islands, it was dispatched. We assume the other sailed back to port to re-arm. The Astute subs are now ordered to the Makassar Strait to locate and destroy the BB.

Image

21 May 2038

The fleet has arrived and assembled, the Terra Lamps are orbiting, ready to head in and the 747 with the SAS is on station. The order is given to move in.

Image

The Terra Lamps move in first, attempting to gain Air Superiority. Only a single Russian squadron lifts to intercept and it is shot down quickly, leaving the base clear for the SAS to start in.

Image
Image

As soon as the SAS land hangar doors roll open and somewhere in the vicinity of 40 squadrons of fighters, in various states of repair, pour out of repair facilities.

Image

VICTORY!
The base is ours; the remaining Russian fighters flee to Dolinsk air base, north of Yuzhno-Sakhalink, Sakhalin. The base Garrison is still fighting, but the base is ours.

Image

Authors Note: I had no idea they would have their entire force in repairs, it was rather anticlimatic to say the least.

An awesome diversion from my 6th geology test of the weekend... thanks!

How do you get the pictures embedded in the post, do they have to be online somewhere to use a URL, or can i do it another way? The writer in me would love to add pics and do a more narrative aar with my upcoming Japan fiasco in 1936 (it looks pretty bad comparing japan to the rest of the world, but im gonna give it a shot!)

I use Photobucket to host the pics then post the image URL here. Photobucket has changed over the years and is just a pile of garbage and ads now, some suggest imgur or other sites. I stick with PB because I am stubborn. It is very easy to do, just make your post then add in the links.

Quite impressive. It's gonna be a long struggle until your forces will be strong enough to break the encirclement and reach inhabited areas. What's your plan afterwards?Which route you're going to take?South, through former chinese territories, to gain more land or through Siberia directly towards Russian capital?

I honestly do not know. As it stands now, our forces are absolutely no match for those of the Russian Federation, tech wise, nor do we have anywhere near the capability to produce units as they have. This gives me pause about venturing into any populous area with good supply as I am certain we would be thrashed.

I suppose we will continue to work at destroying RUS-FED units and attempt to stay in Siberia as long as we need to as we slowly build our strength and tech level. We certainly need many more Multi Role aircraft with outstanding land attack stats. The Terra Lamp is a good solid airframe, but we look forward to more advanced aircraft as I believe the key to winning this challenge will indeed be air power, (when is air power not the key).

Additionally, we would welcome some help/support of the many non aligned countries sitting on the sideline as The United Kingdom once again shoulders the responsibility for protecting the free world!

Another update! Yay !
Appreciate your efforts
Regarding your financial status Idon't think you should avoid raising your GDPc. Yes, it increases your cost with wages but it also increases your incomes and domestic sales. And lowering the prices for population will improve your DAR and raise production efficiency.
As for military advancement you have a long way to go.Even after you will clear the surroundings you will need much more technologically advanced infantry units than FRES's and lots of them ,especially when you reach into areas with towns and cities.
So, good luck and God Save the Queen!

The last 5 weeks, I have been enjoying a visit by my daughter and son in law, (they live in England). Fired up SR2020 today to advance this story, but I have purchased a new 32 inch monitor and the resolution is not supported. :( Looks too bad for me to play.

You should be able to edit the registry to make it work.

Registry edited, I can now play the game in 2560 x 1440

New installment added. I made a decision to stay engaged in Eastern Siberia by capturing Petropavlovsk and made a run on the Russian offshore platforms in the North Sea with the intent of denying them some oil production.
